Default 1975 audi 80

have recently acquired 1975 audi 80 estate, 1 owner, low milage etc. but aside from having difficulty with parts, VAG says car is obsolete, scrap-yards don't remember cars that old, etc. my main problem is flat spot, carb is solex 2B2, no parts available, have heard that a Webber conversion is the answer, can anyone clarify and/or suggest other answers?

Your best bet is to have the carb rebuilt by a professional or even yourself if you have a factory manual. I have rebuilt many carbs, motorcycle, cars, outboard, etc. and it is not that difficult, just don't rush it, take notes and digital pictures are great. The problem is sometimes finding the rebuilt kit. The '75 didn't have smog requirements so it should be straight forward and a Weber if available should also work.

Hey,

I've recently got an '82 80. I too have a flat spot....usually at about 2300rpm, but generally at a certain point in the throttle position.

Does this sound the same??

I'm on the hunt for a Weber DGV/DGaV progressive carb for it though.

My only other concern is fuel consumption. It's pretty poor!
