1986 Audi Quattro

I was just given this 1986 Audi Quattro. I am looking to turning this into a little street raceing car. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I should do to it, where there is any detailed information about this car, any places that sell parts for this car (performance preferably), and if there is anywhere I can get a repair manual for this car. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You can get a repair manual, the only one I recommend is the OEM Robert Bentley. Performance - there is very little, maybe a cam and K&N air filter. The upgrade chips are not worth the money and I was told that they don't give any noticeable increase in power.

How about are there any parts for other cars that could fit this car? Like any cars that are almost the same car. Ya know?

Ok.. Now that we have a few other models that parts should be interchangeable with.. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should get?

Given the amount of money and work involved in an engine swap I would just buy one of the models listed.

is your car a turbo???....if so you have some potential....I would also check out www.blauparts.com, they're located about twenty minutes from me and they are very helpfull if you need some oem parts and some performance parts

Yea its a turbo.. But now my dad and I are thinking about droppen in a 305 with a 4 bolt main in it and then putting a blower on it and such.. What you guys think? Anyone have detailed information on engine swaps for this car? Oh also we would be changen it from 4 wheel drive to rear wheel drive.

And how do you plan to hook up the trans or do you plan to make it rear drive only with an automatic.

I have now heard it all.

I am going to take an Audi and convert it to a cheap assed Chevy, near impossible, without MAJOR sheetmetal revision under the hood, and the entire drive train, which HIS dad says he wants to do, I suppose to go back to his childhood.

And, to go to rear wheel drive, total driveline change, when the Audi All Wheel Drive was outlawed from the International Circuit because All Wheel had such a huge advantage in those years, is utterly absurd.

Good grief, kid, have you not even a little knowledge of automobiles? Has your dad even as much sense as you don't seem to have?

I am sorry to have to be so harsh, but the questions ARE asinine.

Cheers,

George
