1988 Audi 90 Fuel Delivery Issue
A friend of mine just got a 1988 Audi 90 with the 5 cylinder, the car has a no start issue. The ignition is fine but there seems to be no fuel to the engine. I put a voltimetr on the fuel pump wires and they read 0 volts with the key in the on position and when cranking, My first though was it was the fuel pump relay but I just finished testing it and it seems to be working fine. Why else would there be 0 power to the fuel pump? Possible the Computer? How Would I test that? Thanks

RE: 1988 Audi 90 Fuel Delivery Issue
How about the fuse did you check it?
In the ignition ON position, the fuel pump initially cycles briefly to pressurize the line and turns off for safety. The pump is only supposed to run when the engine or starter is turning and the ECU is receiving signal from the distributor. Try checking the voltage while cranking the engine or try jumping the relay terminals, you should get 12V to the pump if not the wiring is shot.
