I got a 1986 audi quattro CS Turbo. When i go to start it sometimes the fuel pump will not turn on when your trying to start it so it wont start. I was wondering if anyone knew what would cause the fuel pump to come on sometimes and others it won't. thanks

 

maybe a bad ignition switch

 

Did that car have a pre pump as well? cause i know sometimes those go bad causing that problem.

 

bad wiring I think or ignition switch, this car didn't have a sump pump and the mainpump was on the outside next to the filter ( underside below the rear seats )

 

I put a brand new ignition switch on in october. My father was thinking the same thing that the ignition switch was bad. But would an ignition switch go that quick?

 

was it a NEW switch??

 

Yah it was brand new from napa. But it wasn't the key switch it was jus the part behind it. So i was thinking it might be the keyswitch. But im not sure i was wondering what u guys think about that
