So I noticed this a few days after I got the car, but there's this weird compartment in the backseat/trunk of my car ('89 200QT), and I can't figure out what it's for. In the backseat, the armrest folds down, and then you open a velcro flap, and from there, you can pull out this large black plastic/vinyl (PVC maybe) "bag" that you can blow up. I'm assuming that it's like a ski bag or something. Anyone else know what it is? I don't have the manual, so I can't check there.

 

Yes, you are right, it is a waterproof "bag" to put your skis through from the trunk. I'm guessing the "bag" is to stop snow from melting off of the skis and onto your interior.

 

I found that in my coupe a couple months after I bought. It's a PAIN to get back in though.

 

It's a ski condom... Great when you have to haul a long piece of lumber home from the hardware store.. Usually an owner unpackes it ONCE and after spending a long time repacking it - never touches it again.... Although my grand kids love to unpack it and watch me struggle with the repack..

 

Haha, that's what I thought. Yeah, definitely is a PAIN to repack. My rear armrest still isn't flush with the rest of the seats...I was considering maybe tearing it out, and making it a booze stash or something. Might be handy if I re-sell to an underage kid.

 

Yeah that sounds right. I can totally see your grand kids doing that though. It's the sort of thing I would have done when I was little.
