the car started out with a 00771-fuel sender shorted/open, and when full of fuel gauge wont go past half. I pulled the sender and found there was definitely a short(with a meter hooked up to it). after replacing the sender I still have the same problem, and the code wont clear...I am aware that the senders are an all too common problem, but is it possible that my cluster got screwed up as a result? any help would be greatly appreciated.
