Hi,

I had my A4 2.5tdi t reg fuel injection pump pack in on me. i got it overhauled and when i picked it up from the garage i found the engine was a hell of alot louder than when it went in. It sounded more like a tracter.. proper diesel sound.. This is not a good sound in my opinion, as the engine was alot more smother before the pump packed in. I took the car back to them , but they insisted that the engine and timing was fine and the pump was functioning fine. I am still convinced that somthing is not right. can anyone help me with this.

Maybe the turbo's on the way out.. i haven't got a clue.. any help much appreciated.

I just changed my pump and it did the same thing. I jjust thought it blew a donut gasket or something. I am going to look at it this weekend. If I find anything Ill keep you posted.

I am not sure how much play the flex pipe should have on a vehicle, seeing how I have never messed with one, but mine has a lot. If that is not the problem, it would have to be a gasket around the converter or the converter itself. I just crawled under it for a second as I didn't have much time. If anyone else knows, the help would be appreciated. Good luck.

 

Ok i will check it out, The thing is once the car warms up the noise goes and runs sweet.. so i guess it could be somthing thats loose. The engine just sounds so loud when starting it from cold..

I'll keep u posted if i get to the bottom of it.

Sounds good. Our problems seem to be different. I crawled under mine again and I think it coming from the flex pipe. More money!!
