Audi Connect - Worth It?
 

Hi all, newbie Audi owner here (just purchased a '12 A6 :) ).

Sorry if my question has already been addressed elsewhere (I did a search but did not find anything).

My question is: Is Audi Connect worth it?

From what I can gather, Audi Connect will provide me with in-vehicle wifi, internet browser, weather updates, and some other features.

My initial response is: So what? That's nothing that I can't get from my smartphone, so why would I pay for an add'l service to provide me with the same features?

Unless, of course, I'm missing something (which is an all-to-frequent occurrence for me ;) ).

I have a new 2015 A3 with Audi Connect and I am LOVING it!
I downloaded the companion app for my iPhone and love being able to upload addresses and picture destinations via the app. I can search for locations or things from te app, and once I find them, upload them to my acount, and when I get in the car...there they are! I like the car finder portion of the app, but I havent had to actually use it yet.... I have the Navigation and I also get routes to the nearest Audi approved gas stations when I am running low. its also nice to be able to see the directions and other info in the digital display on the dash or the pop-up radio screen. i think it is a TAD expensive for just 5Gigs of data in a 6 moth period, but to my knowledge, I cant add this car to my existing AT&T family plan...if anyone knows if the Audi connect features willl work on a "personal" data plan let me know! (not trying to hijack your thread :-) )
