Audi Q3 2.0TDi mis-fuel - £5,000+ to fix at Audi?
I stupidly put petrol in my wife's 1 year old Audi Q3 diesel. I drove the car 1 mile and the engine lost some power so I stopped driving it immediately. The engine did not seize or quit working.
I thought it would be a matter of flushing out the tank and fuel system but my local Audi dealer (whom I do not trust) now tell me they are recommending 2 new pumps and that I need to replace the entire fuel system. They telling me will cost me well over £5,000! I simply cannot believe this.I can buy a decent car for £5k.
The car is a rental and goes back in 10 months. To compound matters my other half is insured with Bell whom are about the only insurer I know who don't cover the cost of mis-fuel as a policy condition or under accidental damage.
I am looking for a way out of this that does not cost £5k++++. Any advice gratefully accepted.
