Unhappy Battery or key recognition

Hi to everyone. Well i have searched the net for my Audi problem. but to no avail. Yeahi looked at other forums for Audi but with no joy. However i can now tell you what Sunglasses to wear with your new TT or if indeed ya girlfriends butt does look big sprawled over the bonnet of your A6!!!

I have an A4 1996. petrol. The battery ran flat, so i removed it and recharged. Now i have replaced it, the car turns over but will not fire up and run. Now i have been told it is a key coding/recognition problem. Is this so, and if so, is there a"special way" to resolve this.? Without £85. +VAT hourly garage rate. ( they say a 2 hour job!!!!!!)

Many thanks in advance to all replies

I highly doubt that the problem is the key. I would make a phone call to the dealer and ask if you remove the battery what happens.

Also check if your antitheft is not on...you will need to code.

Tanks for the responce. Had mobile diagnostic. Turns out it was the crank sensor. Acouple of tweaks and it burst into life.
Needless to say if i have any further problems, i know where to come. Thanks again.
