Default Check Engine Light...

I have a 2001 A4, 1.8T. Car is stock, and maintenance is performed on time. About a week ago, my check engine light came on. I went to my local parts store to check the code, and it was System Too Lean. I don't remember if it said bank1 or bank2. The guy at the store recommended some fuel injector cleaner, so I tried that. I also thought it might have been some bad gas since it came on right after I left the gas station. I ran the car to almost empty and tried another gas. Same thing. The car seems to have lost a little power as well. A few days later, the light went off, and everything was fine. Then it came back on, and I had trouble starting the car. It sounded like a lawn mower. Now the car won't start at all. Battery and alternator seem fine. Any tips on what this could be? o2 sensor? vacuum leak? MAF? Thanks!

I am responding to a post that you made about a check engine light. My 2002 a4 is doing the same thing, but I have the error code T0171. Any suggestions as to what it could be??

you mean P0171 = system too lean bank 1, probable faults are intake/exhaust leak, AIR system, MAF sensor, fuel pressure/pump, injector leak, heated o2 senor.

ill take a shot at intake/exhaust leak

I brought the car to my buddy who works at BMW, and he said it was the o2 sensor. I ordered the part, but the harness looks different. I got the STANDARD brand one, part number sg1209. We double checked the part number in the computer again, and they did give me the right part. Any clue why this would happen?

Ended up returning the o2 sensor, and buying one from Audi. They had it in stock for a decent price. Before I installed it, I hooked it back upto the code scanner. It gave me P0171, SYstem Too Lean: Bank 1. I tried to clear it, but it wouldn't let me. I put the o2 sensor in, very easy install. I tried to start the car, and it still wouldn't go. I hooked it up to the scanner again, and it let me clear it. Car runs fine now, and the CEL is off. I drove it around for about an hour, and all seems well. Is this normal for the car not to work until the code is cleared? Some sort of safety feature from Audi? Hopefully the problem is fixed, and stays fixed. Thanks again everyone.

Code: P0341
Samething happend to me yesterday!!! after i left the gas station. I lost some power.
Engine light came on right after it, i scanned the computer and it gave me this code P0341.
The PCm has determined that the voltage signal from camshaft position sensor "A" is out of range for the current engine operatiog conditions. what do i do?? guy auto store said i need fuel cleaner but is not really working how do i fix this?
