Gearbox Header Leak

I took my 2014 Q3 1.4 TFSI in for the 60,000km service and the Audi Service Center reported that after changing the transmission oil, they discovered a leak on the parting line of the gearbox housing halves.

If you notice their sheet it says customer complaint of oil leaking. This is not true at all. No oil had leaked onto my car space in the garage since purchasing the car brand new in 2014.

They are quoting $6,000 for the parts plus 10 hrs work time to a total of $8,000!! The car only had 3 years warranty. They said they would check on Monday about Goodwill Assistance. No idea what that means in terms of cost assistance.

They tried to quote $600 for the battery change (battery low). Something about needing to program the battery to the car and recalibrate. I got Audi Roadside to come out in the evening and replace the battery for $355. The car is back to normal with no further start/stop errors.

The Roadside Tech said it's impossible to see gearbox leaks beca use there is a protective cover piece underneath concealing the engine bay and protecting it from the road.

Today I want to seek a second opinion. Because the car was running fine until I took it to the Audi dealer. The car has 74,000km on the clock. We did run a fair bit past the 60,000km check.

What's your opinion on this matter? Is it a common problem?
