Bluegrass Audi, Louisville, KY
To be blunt, these guys were a waste of my time. I am buying an a3 for a company car, I have a set budget to work with. I contacted the audi dealers in Lexington and Louisville.
All the Louisville guys do is try to justify why they should have a high price for everything. Such as a $750 dealer fee that was explained to be mostly title and registration. (Hello ********, I sold cars, the title and registration in KY is $28!!!).
I emailed the internet dept in Lexington, found the car I want, and got a reasonable price. $28,950 for a 2007 MT, s line, tech, cd changer, lava grey. I'm not paying for it so I was not looking to haggle a lot, just give me the car at a reasonable price, I understand that they have to make money too. I'm in sales for gods sake, I hate it when someone dumps you as a supplier because they can save $0.01/lb on their material, oddly this is normally on the companies that supply the domestic auto suppliers so they have no margins.
The dealer in Louisville was very offended that I price shopped around, and said they could match the price, but there would be some additional charges for shipping etc, that audi shipping just went up by $300, and had the gall to ask if I would be interested if they matched the price plus $300. Of course I would not be interested! The dealer in Lexington mentioned shipping had also gone up, but only by $50.
Long story short, I will never buy from Bluegrass, they only talk all day and want to haggle on everything, give me a decent price up front and I'll buy the car. And a $750 dealer fee is outrageous. I worked for Carmax back in college, their fee is $150 on new cars.
OK, I'm done venting now. I am also very much looking forward to receiving my new A3 next week, especially since I'm not paying for it!
