For the CPO, there's $50 deductible for repair costs. Who picks up the remaining tab? Is it the dealership? Do they split with Audi, or do they get reimbursed for a portion?

A Certified Pre-Owned car comes with a warranty that the dealer purchases for the car from a warranty company(Audi.) When repairs are needed the dealer goes through the warranty company just as it would any warranty repair on a new car and the warranty company pays for the repair.
You could basically save yourself the Certified Pre-Owned price and purchase a car and just buy an extended warranty with it and get the same effect.

Right. But you know that you can't take any Audi to the dealership and buy a warranty. The cars have to be less than 4 yrs old, have less than 45K miles, have full service history and recalls, and no accidents, and modifications. So, therefore, chances are that you will find a car this clean from a dealer but it will be a CPO. I don't mind giving extra for CPO, as they don't give me worries. I know for sure that Audi takes $3000 for every certification process from the dealer.
