Let's see where to begin....approximately October 2011 I walked into Hoffman of east hartford to buy a new car because my Audi TT got swallowed up by a hurricane. I ended up settling for an 09 A4 but really wanted an A5. Anyways after the first couple weeks I had to take the car back in for a tail light replacement and also the sun roof motor failed. From here I thought everything would be ok but no. The transmission then started to slip as I would decelerate. It would hang up on gear 3 and almost slam into first gear. When this happened I immediately took the car back into Hoffman of east hartford. They said the problem was with the software on the transmission. This seemed logical since the transmission is run through the computer and is also adaptable. So I went with it. Two weeks later the same shiftin issues came up so I took the car back into the shop yet again. They looked at the software on the transmission and said what they had on site was out dated and just received the latest from Audi headquarters. Again this sounded promising so I went with it. Not even a week later the same transmission problem showed up so it went back into the shop. Hoffman then opened their first case with Audi of America headquarters for assistance because what they were doing wasn't enough. Audi of America finally issued my car to receive a new transmission. The car is an Audi A4 2009 with barely 40k miles on it!!!!! From here it continues to get interesting. The service advisor instructed me the new transmission would arrive in a couple days and back the following week. Again this was not the case. I ended up waiting almost two weeks before getting my car back. Here's the most absurd part. While my car was parked at the dealership in east Hartford Hoffmann, one of their technicians had an accident and hit my front bumper. Seriously who does that. It's parked!!! They made the necessary repairs but this is rediculous. Finally after buffing out the front bumper and a new transmission my car is finally ready. Last but not least, when I drove home that day I found a nice size scratch on the back driver door. So again I brought it back into Hoffmann of east Hartford. They agreed to paint it and that's where we are at. To sum everything up I have never had such a bad experience with a dealership. My Audi TT required 0 maintenance and ran like a champ. At this point I wouldn't recommend buying any automatic A4 2009. I hope my story gets out there before another example like this surfaces.

That is frustrating to have to go back so many times and to have to be without your car. Hopefully you will have better luck from now on. Maybe you can find an experienced independent shop in your area to take care of your car post warranty.

I personally recommend if you live in the new england area INSKIP in warwick rhode island is a premier dealer and they have every euro under the sun and they do a fantastic job. I take my Acura MDX there for service regularly the car currently has 250k on it. My Audi C5 is taken to a local shop in Northampton, MA. I had issues with my B5 Audi from Hoffman and once i left i never went back, I cut my losses and just used the warranty at another dealer.
