Would there be any advantage to doing multiple layers of wax?
Particularly when preparing your car for harsh winter road conditions.
Or would it be a waste of time?

I am curious whether or not the wax would layer at all, or if the application of a second layer would remove and spread the first layer.

I usually do two layers to ensure full coverage, I don't see any ill effects from doing so.
