Default I'm driving an Audi A4. Whats the best exterior products?

I just bought myself an Black Audi A4 and to be honest I am pretty clueless about what polishes and waxes to buy. Does anyone have any recommendations?

In short it depends what you are trying to achieve. Exterior is a broad term that can refer to many things on your car including the paint, trim, wheels, etc....

I have posted a guide here. So check it out and it may help.

Preferences in detailing products is kind of like religion. In addition to a couple Audis I own three Crossfires and I am partial to Meguiars products. The Scratch-X and their waxes keep the exterior looking great if you follow the directions. And always use a microfiber towel, never a cotton cloth or terrycloth towel.

I second meguiar's products. I pretty much my entire commercial detailing stock is meguiar's because its about as good as things get for the price. Some of thier stuff is better than others, and of course there are always some stand out products in other lines such as p21s, pinnacle, and poorboys world, etc... As the addage goes, shine is 90% prep, 10% product.

Default Swissvax

Well, perhaps u can take a look at the Swissvax, the Concorso series. I've tested it and the wax is long lasting, about 4-5 mths at tropical climate, after simple wash, the shine is always "outstanding" while parking at the car park!

My car is 3 yrs + old but the paint looks like 90% new paint.
Perhaps u can survey around on this.

Default Meguiar's

For the exterior, I must concur Meguiar's is the best wax to use. I had a black A6 and the Meguiar's Carnauba wax gave me the best results. I use it on all of my cars now.

Swissvax is a great product. The concourso series is a $280 wax. If you have the money...why not but otherwise it's a lot of money to spend on a car wax alone.

Here's my arsenal (I definitely wouldn't call myself an expert or anything close to it [I'm probably actually a newbie, but I get plenty of compliments on how well maintained my A4 is], this is just what I use to keep my car looking nice):

1) Turtle Wax
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T-2...2577682&sr=8-1

2) Turtle Wax Carpet Cleaner
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T24...2577722&sr=1-1

3) Meguiar's Natural Shine Protectant (in spray form)
http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G4100...577764&sr=1-17

4) Meguiar's Quik Wax
http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G1751...577819&sr=1-16

5) Armor All Leather Wipes
http://www.amazon.com/Armor-All-1088...2577854&sr=1-1

6) Armor All Tire Shine
http://www.amazon.com/Armor-All-Extr...2577876&sr=1-1

7) Black Magic Wheel Cleaner
http://www.amazon.com/Products-80000...2577931&sr=1-6

8) Armor All Glass Cleaner
http://www.amazon.com/Armor-All-3202...2577960&sr=1-1

Microfiber cloth and wheel brush

Hopefully that was helpful and not annoying with all the Amazon links.

Default items for the $ minded

all glass is Castles it is the best

old stand by for wax is meguires #26 "Yellow" Hi tech

and I saw turtle wax the thing I always liked about that was they came with a foam applicator Meguires is the only major if not the only one to carry that now

on the tires I first make sure the car has been sitting for a while before work begins and I use a non-harsh detergent and medium bristle brush and then rinse clean

the car I first use a gently spray down the I use a car sponge/mitt with a gentle cleaner in the shade and do in section and rinse

on carbon fiber I have used even X-scratch by meguires and then #26

on head tail and plastics meguires plastic cleaner then meguires plastic polish
they have a two in one but I still like to do one at a time..

for chrome 3M's chrome polish in a jar.....

I also have all the buffing pads for basically a sanding machine never go over 1100 rpm's

black magic is OK
