Pine Sapp on my Car and windows
Ya so i park under a tree to stop the sun beating on the carfor the better part ofteh day, i come out and ihave globs all over the windshield and hood, WTF!!!! so how do i get it off with out ruining the paint.
same thing happened to me..parked under a tree in DC for a hour or so, came back and my car was pelted.hood..sides.windows..top..rear..with combo bird dung/sap, Luckily I had some old tar/sap remover , it works ok...spent 20 minutes the last two nights with that an old t shirt/chamois and it seems to do a good job, I don't think i'm scratching anything..but some of the sap is on good..need to spend some more time later today...anyone else have experience?
Try using a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water (50/50) let it sit on there for 30 seconds to a minute and pick at the top portion of the sap so that you do not touch the paint. This typically will remove a majority of the sap, leaving you with a ring. From there I would clay the affected area to fully remove the sap from the surface, and polish as needed to remove any etching that may have occured.
An easy way, is to get a towel, wet it, then put it in the microwave to heat it up. Then place it on the sap for 20-30 sec & wipe. It should come off & will not damage the paint or remove any wax.
