Pollish & Wax question

So i pollished my car, and i found some wax laying in the garage.
And i know wax is better.
Would it be ok if i put the wax on top of the pollish or is there a way i can get the polish off and wax my car?

Polish and Wax are two different categories of products.

A polish - in the true sense of the word, are designed to correct paint imperfections. They vary anywhere from non-abrasive chemical polish, to large abrasives in heavy cutting polishes and everything in between.
A wax - is a layer of protection for your paint as well as adds some gloss and depth.

A pure polish will not leave behiind any residue on the surface, when you wipe it off its job is done, nothing is left behind (unless you are using an All In One product).

To answer your question, yes you would want to apply the wax over the polish, because otherwise you probably have no protection on the paint as of now. I highly encourage you to read up on the available processes of detailing if you are looking to improve your results.
