Red A4 Waxing
 

I used the trusted turtle wax on my A4, after it was polished it looked SO Good! but after about a week, every imperfection on the car turned white as if the wax was beginning to show, now there are spots all over my hood where the wax has filled in every nook and cranny and shows white. i tried cleaning it and applying another coat of wax but the problem persists. any suggestions on what product might help the wax not do this?

never was much of a Turtle-Wax fan. I've been using Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0 I love it, it works great, shine lasts a while, no white spots. Car looks like new every time. Now if only I could keep the pollen off of it :mad:

What you want to do is start fresh. Wash the car with Dawn Dishwashing soap. This will remove any wax that is left on the car. After you dry it you can clay the car but not nessary. After that you can use Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle and wipe down the car. This will help remove any wax that is built up in stone chips deep scratches, etc and really help clean the surface. If you have any wax in between trim or emblems you may need small detailing brush to remove that build up. Not to knock your wax but there are so many better choices out there. I would recommend a sealant with cleaners built in. I really like duragloss #105. You can find duragloss at some Carquest or go to there website. Another good one in Meguiar's #20. I think you will be happy with the results and the turtle wax will start collecting dust. Good luck.

I used to use and swear by Mothers products for everything inside and out. My dad got an acrylic polymer protectant polish Kit for our boat last month from www.saveyourpaint.com and when he pulls it out the the water its almost dry... So I checked it out and they have two things Car-tech (polish for paint) and Luster-tech that protects rubber and vinyl. I use that inside and out now and I havent washed my 01 a6 in like two weeks now all Ive had to do since I polished it is wipe it off with a dry towel. plus ive always heard waxes eventually build up, and I guess this stuff doesnt it strips the old as you apply the new and you do it 2 or 3 times a year :)
