RE: Scratch remover
i have a few small surface scratches, they arent very deep or very noticable unless from the right angle. But i know they are there, so every time i walk out to my car i look at them, as a single tear rolls down my face. i'm somewhat of a perfectionist i guess. My eighbor told me to use "scratch doctor" from target? but its really cheap so im skeptical

RE: Scratch remover
are you talking about swirls? spiderwebs, or holograming.
or scratches from objects like sticks, keys, ect ect. if you can feel the scratch usually you can't polish it out.; |
RE: Scratch remover
They are scratches from people and things brushing up against the car. You cant feel them but i can see them if the sun is hitting at the right angle.

RE: Scratch remover
I would use some rubbing compound, the stuff in the green can.
then a waxing. |
RE: Scratch remover
well my friend you are probably best trying a product lick megs scratch x. a foam aplicator pad. The thing is with these product is they have to be worked in, then worked untill they break down to a nearly translucent haze. This is tough to achieve by hand, not impossible, but tough.
try in small 6"x6" test areas and see what you end up with. |
RE: Scratch remover
I'd recommend against rubbing compound -- I think it's too agressive for what you're describing. What you need is polish. Check out a post I made to another forum where somebody was asking a similar question. I pointed them to some good reading that talks about how to get rid of scratches (and how to detail your car in general). Good background for you and FREE! Here's the link: Click Here.

The autopia downloadable guide is the best place to start.
