is your car ready for WINTER?

Hi guys

Im preparing my car for winter and testing out some products. I polished the car before Cquartz is applied and wait 1 week for it to cure fully. Then I put a layer of Dodo supernatural on the paint, and WOW it's so bright!

There's this RID ( random isolated defect ) on the back bumper that I didn't removed fully in fear of streaking through the clear coat. I have Paint Gauge, but doesn't read plastic on bumpers.

that is some serious gloss.

sorta kinda inspires me to do some more work on my car. have problems with swirls/scratches and a few spots where a noob detailer got a little too "frisky" with the buffer.

No one show me the ropes, I did a lot of reading and experiments, now we have this :)

Hi Guys,

Here i am giving some of the tips to keep your car ready for WINTER:

Emergency kit:should consist of: Blanket, gloves, spare coat, safety triangle or flares, flashlight, spare engine fluids such as oil, pre-mixed coolant (see coolants below) and windshield fluid, boots, ice scraper, battery jumper cables, light weight shovel, first aid kit, tire chains, granola bars, bottled water, paper towels, etc.
Dress for the weather:you will at least be dress somewhat appropriately.
The vehicle fluids:Engine coolant:Engine oil
Keep the gas tank full for two very good reasons:

1. You may find yourself idling in traffic for extended periods of time. How comforting to know that you won’t be a feature on the evening news because you caused the biggest traffic tie-up of the season.

2. Finding yourself in a ditch on a lonely stretch of road can be frightening. Having enough fuel to run the engine for 10 minutes every half hour to keep warm is always a good thing.

The Hardware

Wiper blades: If you can’t remember the last time you replaced your wiper blades – now’s the time. An easy rule to remember is to replace the blades at each Daylight Savings/Standard time change. I suggest a winter blade replacement in the fall and a normal blade replacement in the spring. If a heavy snowfall is expected, pull the wiper arms off the windshield. Snow can be heavy and the weight can damage the wiper arm mechanism.

I hope these tips very useful.

Thanks.

Prep-Sol to get the grunge removed first. THEN paint prep starts with a wash & clay bar and a rotary buffer with a NEW pad & 3M Polish Compound. This is followed up with any of the carnuba wax products (Mother's) (two times) and TEXBRITE Cherry Wet Wax (two times). DO NOT USE DIRTY RAGS OF ANY KIND UNLESS YOU ARE A FOOL (NEW micro-fiber towels work best).

Add lots of elbow grease and the results will get you best in show.

This procedure will also polish your concrete driveway to a HIGH luster..!

enjoy.
