Default Audi A4 2002 Tail-light assembly bulb replacement by Lazydog

Audi A4 2002 Tail-light assembly bulb replacement

Replacement of any bulb in the Tail-light assembly is easier then one thinks.

First thing you need to do is gain access to the trunk area. At the top of
the tail-light area inside the trunk is a small circle that needs to be
opened to expose the bolt that you need to remove.

WARNING: Be careful not to loose this bolt or you are going to have to take
apart your trunk interior to retrieve it.

After the bolt is removed the Tail-light assembly will pull out as follows;
Left side: pull out the right side of the assembly
Right side: pull out the left side of the assembly.
The out side of the assembly is held in place by 2 or 3 small nipples.

There will only be one cable that is connected to the assembly. This does not
have to be removed unless you really want to. On both sides of the assembly
there are 2 clips that hold the light plate to the break light lens. After
the clips are loosened the whole light bulb assembly can be removed and the
bulbs replaced.

Restoring the Break-light assembly.

After you have replaced your bulbs and re attached the the bulb assembly, you
will have to first fit the nipples on the outer side of the assembly then
push the inter side into place. Replace the bolt and tighten. You are done.
