I'm wondering if somebody could help??? And i apologise in advance if someone has posted a similar issue before.

I've got a 2003 A4 Cab, in the last 2 days, the alarm siren has started going off for no reason. However, the indicators do not flash when this happens, and the alarm appears to be a lot quieter than it used to be.

On top of this, the alarm siren isn't deactivated by me unlocking the car, or on a couple of occasions even starting the car.

I'm concerned for 2 reasons:
1. If the alarm is going off, surely the vehicle should be immobilised and so you shouldn't be able to start it.
2. The fact that i can't deactivate it by unlocking the car is resulting in a severe lack of sleep. It went off for around 2 hours last night but then has been fine the rest of the night.

Can anyone help?!
