Audi Antenna AM/FM/Audio Install Question
Hey all,
Background: Needed some help with some general technical stuff on an audi a4 b7. Basically I am trying to replace a symphony 2 on a 9 speaker non bose system, and ran into a small hitch.
My setup:
Connects 2 CTSAD003 CANBUS Harness (worth every penny!, still got steering wheel controls and dont have to mess around with pac programming)
Pioneer AVIC-F700BT running 3.02 firmware
Audioleads PC-5137 amplified antenna adapter (fakra to motorola)
Now my questions:
When I have the Symphony 2 stereo removed, I notice there are two connectors that look like they are antennas, one of them looks to be a Coax male (black), and the other is a FAKRA plug (curry yellow). I am using the PC-5137, A fakra style plug, but I only seem to be getting FM only. If this is a dual diversity antenna shouldn't I be getting AM on both? When I bring the end of my fakra connector to the COAX male, it seems that I am getting the AM signal. Does it matter which one I hook up to? Or did I get the wrong adapter? I suspect I should have used a Metra VW-54 instead (or something with a coax connector)
Second Question: Do I need both of these installed or only 1? And will i get a error code if I dont?
