Default Delta Bose AM radio

I have a 96 a6 q wagon with the delta bose system
I am experiencing poor AM radio reception.
When I seak a station it passes right over.
Here in NYC 1010 is a big am station and the radio will not tune this station.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check to make sure the antenna is plugged into the back of the radio. If thats ok theres probably a problem with the diversity antenna and harness for the am reception.

No its an amplifyer box for the antenna. Its in the rear shelf behind the rear seats. Its a very common problem.

Not really sure. Id have to guess it would be in one of the side panels in the rear. If i had to guess which side id say driver.

The radios in these cars are notoriously poor at pulling in AM stations, so if you've recently purchased the car you may be surprised at how bad the AM reception is. When I bought my '96 A6 w/ Bose radio, we had the dealer swap the original radio out because of poor AM reception, but the replacemet radio was no better than the original. I live in northern NJ, and to get NYC statopns like 1010 or 880 I have to manually tune - the seek function skips right over everything. So you may just be experiencing the norm.
