I have a 2004 A4 Quattro. A few months ago I noticed that the radio would come on by itself when the car was parked and the keys weren't even in it! This would happen once or twice a week. More recently, the radio isn't coming on by itself anymore, but I've noticed that every few days the brake lights will be on when it's parked in the driveway, again keys aren't even in it! Other than the annoyance, I'm afraid I'll go to start the car and the battery will be drained. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Or any idea where to start to track down such a strange electrical problem? Thanks!

 

Change your ignition switch. It's simple and less than $30. It sounds like its not fully cutting power to the accessories when the key is off. Try and turn on the wipers or rear defroster with the key off. If they work too, it's a safe bet your switch is shorted.

 

I too have experienced the brake lights being "ON" in the morning when I wake up. So far, I've had the car for a week and only one morning they were off. Can anyone explain this?

every once in awhile as i am driving down the road the roof will open and close at random or tilt and close. the worst is when i was going down the road and the roof opened all the way as the rain started pouring down.

Your sunroof switch needs to be overhauled. Search for "sunroof possessed" and you should find it.

 

Yeah my sun roof randomly opens and closes , Closes when you want it open and opens when you want it closed . lol .
I think that it adjusts to surrounding air pressures too .
Went on a trip in the mountains and it would open just long enough to let a lil bit of air in and then it closes right back up .
Kinda Cool .
Hasn't Rained in on me yet so , I'm not going to complain .
