Has anyone successfully programmed their Homelink to a Rolling Code Garage Door Opener?
I have a 2003 A6 and tried everything mentioned in manual, only car I've had success with is our '03 Jaguar.
Help!

 

I just bought my 2003 A4 3.0 last week. First thing you need to do is push and hold the button on the homelink you want to program till it blinks. Then go up front and hold your garage door opener next to your passenger side headlight and push the button till you see your turn signals flash. Now the car is ready. Next you have to go to the garage door opener and push the program button. Once that is pushed go back to the car and push the homelink button your associated to your remote. once you push and hold that you should see your door open / close depening on where it was. Now you should be good to go.

I'm going to go ahead and add my personal experience. It was a 30min trial by fire till I found this thread. This is the steps I did for my newly purchased 2003 A4 1.8T. ThingsI needed to have or locatebefore I did it:

Garage door remote control unit
Main Garage door "smart"/"learn" button

1. Press & Hold buttonsI & III...a solid light is there, then it starts flashing real fast. Let go immediatly.

2. Press & release the button you wish to be programmed. ( I choose button III)

3. Go to the front passenger side bumper and hold the GARAGE REMOTE CONTROL button down until your hazards blink/flash. Release immediatly. (You should see 3 flashes/blinks)

4. Now go to your MAIN GARAGE DOOR UNIT (in the ceiling of your garage) and press the "learn" or "smart" button. (Mine was purple). Do not hold it down, just press and release.

5. Within 30secs of pressing the main units learn/smart button get back to your visor and press & holdyour desired button (again, mine was III) till your garage does 1/2 things:

A. Opens or shuts (depends on the position it was inbefore you pressed the button.)
B.Lights flash on the MAIN UNIT itself.

Mine did both.
