Navigation Display
I have a 2000 A6 4.2 with the CD nav system and trip computer. The center display unit has died - over half of the horizontal lines are gone altogether - the rest are dim - it's totally illegible. Must be a common issue, as cars on eBay sometimes refer to NOT having it. The side led's (fuel, clock, etc.) all work fine...
The dealership says the whole instrument panel needs to be replaced at $1500. Is there any way to just replace the center display unit? WHere can I get one? Help, please! |
RE: Navigation Display
common issue with the C5 A6. Mine was replaced in my 2001 under warranty. I think the dealer will do a swap and only charge you a $400 difference.
Beware of ebay auctions as you need the right part#. See this link of mine for some background: http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5311#5311 See also Sean's link on how to upgrade the cluster: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec106.shtml Good luck! |
