After searching the forums for advice on this but it seems like there hasn't been any clear advice on the matter. But, can anyone tell me what all is entailed in trying to install an aftermarket remote start system in an 04 A6 2.7 with transponder chip? This cold weather in NE Ohio has been making me want one to help warm the car and turbos before I leave for work in the morning.

 

I've also got the 2004 A6 2.7T for over 2 yrs now and it gets COLD up here in northern Alberta. I couldn't find any one to install a remote starter last year, the only quote I got was for over $ 4000 ! But this year I found a 2-way unit at Napa, about $300, and had it installed for another $500 (check with auto electric shops). So now we don't use the original FOB, just the remote and it is nice to get into a partly warm car.
