Default Replacement of A4 B5 Bose stereo receiver with aftermarket

My Bose receiver is blown (stereo lights are on but stereo will not turn on) and I am looking to replace it with with with either a JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69 or Alpine CDA-9886. Both of these units have 4+ volt pre-amp outputs.

I have been told that I should use the pre-amp outputs of the new receiver to connect to the system. I have also heard that the impedance is different between the after-market and Bose system, and that this will eventually lead to blown-out speakers. Is there a better way to wire/wiring harness that I could use?

I would prefer to not rip-out and replace the whole system, although this may have to happen. Any comments/opinions are welcome.

Default Replacement BOSE stereo

Just a suggestion but you can avoid the mess with a factory replacement that is CHEAP from ecstuning.com
