Hey guys,
brand new to the board, brand new Audi owner. Been a BMW owner for ever, still have one... I have just added to my mini fleet. I bought a 2003 A6 2.7T on saturday, we absolutely LOVE the car... wow! So quick!!!
Anyway, with Bimmers, you can retrofit newer year headunits in older same model cars to get some of the functionality of newer technology. I have searched here and found just a couple hits. I now know it can be done, I'm just wondering exactly how difficult and steps involved.
My hope is that its simply aheadunit swap, a sirius reciever, an antenna and perhaps some additional wiring. How close am I? I'm not good with changing pin configurations, soldering, etc. I hope its not that involved... if it is, I think we're gonna be looking at an aftermarket satellite unit attached to dash somewhere, which obviously just trying to avoid.
