Components: Infinity
Sub: JL
Amp: Audiobahn

It was all back in high school though, and I completely forget the models and all that good stuff. I also owned a set of 12 Fosgate HE2s that bumped surprisingly hard despite how cheap they were.

My favorite speakers/sub are the stock system in my A3.... lol j/k

I used to sell home theater equipment and I became a big fan of Polk, so I have always had Polk in my car. My last set (before getting the A3) was two pairs of Polk Momo 6.5" comps (MM6) and a pair of 12" Polk Momo subs (MM2124) in a sealed box. I was very impressed with the components, but a bit underwhelmed by the subs.

When I get the funds for speakers in my A3, it's definitely going to be two pairs of Polk Signature References. These are easily the best quality speakers I have ever heard. They are based on Polk's home theater speakers, and they are not cheap! ($900 MSRP for a 6.5" pair) I'm gonna put in a sub too, probably one or two 10's. I haven't decided what amps to use though.

I had 3 JL 12-W6s in a fiber glass enclosure sitting in the spare tire well of my Acura Integra. This is waaaay back in college...Rockford Fosgate amp powered those three, and there was a false floor, so I could still use my trunk and still have all that boom! That was the best setup I've ever had. Back then I went through Kicker, Orion, Boston Acoustics, and JL for subs. I have to say that the JLs were the winner by far. Not just load, but a clean, quality sound. Word

Peerless, I used their laminated cone HDS drivers in my home system, and their Definition series splits in my car, they also make really good subs, they have one awards, dedicated speaker manufacturer from Denmark.

Best I've owned for SQL have to be the ADS seperates old 320i and now currently 346i superb sound. Since I'm not into SPL like I use tobe, for subwoofers I choose either, the Nakamichi Current or the Diamond audio I have this in my lexus Sc400 haven't done anything to the A8 yet probably leave it stock until things start crapping out

Back when I had my '87 Quattro 4000CS I decided to replace the stock system. No matter what you listened to, it sounded like AM radio.

In the 4000, the fuel tank sat between the trunk and the rear seat, so my options were almost nil for a sub, and quite limited for the rears. I put in 6.5" 3-way Memphis rears, but they didn't live up to my expectations. However I used the factory wiring so it may not have been the speaker's fault.

I made a custom box and put it in the foot space of the rear driver's side, and the amp under the front passenger's seat. Unless I wanted to remove the rear seats, that was the only solution.

I choose the "MClass" Memphis class-D amp. And the Memphis 12" M3 sub. Considering the space restrictions (and wanted a moderately priced system,) the results blew me away.

It hit harder and had a crisper sound than friends who had twice the $$$ in their systems. People would get into my car and ask if I had dual 12s or dual 15s. (Okay, only one guy asked if I had 15s, and that's because he some crap 12s he thought were awesome, but still.)

ive had over 6 systems and by far the best sounding subwoofers are diamond audio, they absolutly rock and are as smooth as it gets. The diamonds are a but expensive but you get what you pay for. my favorite speakers id say are diamonds or infinitys. Memphis for amps.
