Default 1.8t Tiptronic Crankshaft to 5 Speed Adapter bushing

This precision machined bushing converts the Tiptronic crankshaft to the manual crankshaft clutch pilot bearing configuration. This simplifies the conversion to 5spd and makes the swap a true bolt-in.

Designed by a Motorsports Engineer. CNC machined to tight tolerances that emulate the factory press fit on the bushings I.D and O.D. . The wide flat flange allows for a robust driving surface to press the bushing into the crankshaft.

This image shows the bushing ready to be pressed into a Tiptronic version 1.8T crankshaft:

Unlike the V6 pilot bearing method that is cut and installed backwards, this correctly places the seal on the clutch side protect the needle bearing from contamination as the factory intended. The other internet sourced method requires grinding the nose off the crankshaft that is designed to pilot the flywheel.

The bushing comes with a pre-installed new OEM pilot bearing as shown above.

Also included is a custom machined tool to remove the torque converter bushing. This tool is the "piston" used in the hydraulic method that pressurizes grease you pack in behind the old bushing. The tool end with the o-ring is then inserted into the old bushing. By driving the tool into the grease, high pressure is developed that forces the bushing out. This technique works easier and is always effective comparied to mechancal pullers. Total install time should be around 10-15 minutes. Click on this link to see the tool in action:
