Default 18" or 19" wheels?

I am planning to get the HARTMANN B7 RS4 replicas, but i am stuck on getting a 18" or a 19"...

18" set up...

19" set up...

18"'s look alright...
19"'s def looks more aggressive though...
but i think the ride comfort would be very bad... + i would suffer in acceleration n braking distance...

Anyone own a 18" or 19"? which one do you recommend?

I'd probably go 18" if it were me, one because of the reasons you mentioned (rough ride, slower acceleration), but for two other reasons as well. If you run a 19" wheel, you obviously need a lower-profile tire, which gives less protection to the wheel on crappy roads (if your town doesn't have great roads - that's the case where I am). You could dent a wheel that much more easily. Second of all is the cost and availability of tires. While 19" wheels are becoming more common on vehicles now, and more places are carrying them, it's still going to be a lot easier to find someone selling 18" tires than 19" tires, especially at 8 or 9PM on a weekend when you run over a nail somewhere. You're going to spend quite a bit more for 19" tires, and they're gonna be a little tougher to find.

Maybe that's just the old man in me, but I went through that kind of stuff years back when I had very wide Volk 18" wheels on my Z. Back then, 18" wheels were no more common than 19" wheels are now, and it was an S.O.B. to find replacement tires sometimes, especially when there was an unexpected need to replace one all of a sudden. Something to keep in mind.

I had the same concern....I have settled on the 18's for the summer and the 17's in the winter. The 19's looked better but the ride is much more rough and if you hit a pothole you can kiss that rim good-bye. If you drive were the roads are nice and smooth year round then go with the 19's. Also the prices of the rims and tires are alot more with 19's then with 18's.

Being new,
I have just purchased my 04' A6 Quattro in Navy Blue.
I watched the forum members go around and round on wheels and such and having a Escalade with 24" I know that that bigger is NOT always better. Having this in mind I settled on the Ikon 046 staggered 18/ 8.0 front w a 245/40/18 and 18/9.0 rear with 275/35/18 and after hearing all the crap about staggered not working well with quattro? All I can say is B.S. I feel no difference, it drive's no difference under heavy acceleration or stopping or cornering. As a matter of fact my friend and I ran time laps with his A6 3.0 quattro with non-staggered 18" wheels and tires and there was not one difference in our times across the board. IMO the staggered wheels make the Audi look like it's suppose to a German sports sedan. Goofy footing the front to match the rear just looks to jap tuner. And I'm not saying that some in here's rides look bad cause there are some nice whips in here. But staggered makes the Audi look a helluva alot more like it means business than the jap tuner look. There's just summin that send chills down my spin when I see that big rear wheel? All I can think is a lion in a business suit.
