HID ballast placement A6 (2000)
 

Good day,

I have installed an H1 hid conversion kit on my 2000 model A6 however i am not certain on where is best to fix the ballasts to. I wondered if you had done it before or could recommend a suitable place?

The ballasts don't seem to be of the slim type and came supplied with what looks to be self tapping screws with a bolt head on. Would it be stupid to use heavy rubber bands to strap them on?

I've mounted them (in an A4) on the crossmember beneath the headlights. It's convenient for mounting, keeps them out of the way, and they fit fine.

Thanks, I checked that but the cables are too short :-( at the moment I am using cable ties with them tied to the fresh air intake on the passenger side and I think it's the brake fluid reservoir in the driver side. The ballasts are sitting securely but I am not sure if there is any danger or problem with them being there.

What's your thoughts?!
