Paint Plastic Trim on Bottom?

I was thinking of painting the grey plastic trim on the bottom of the bumpers and sides to match the Dolphin Grey color. Can this be done or will the paint just chip off when i pressure wash it? I'm getting some dents removed and then getting the car touched up for various dings and scrapes. Could I tell the painter to paint the grey trim pieces as well, or does he need a special type of paint or prep to get the paint to stick?

-Thanks

Yes, you can paint the lower plastic trim pieces of an `03 A4. The good news is, the plastic is not textured which minimizes prep time. But a flex agent still must be added to the primer/paint to prevent cracking when dry.

While on the subject, how much would a painter typically charge to paint it? I'm also interested in it but I'm not sure what a reasonable price is.

Probably a few hundred bucks to do it. I had my factory LY7M paint mixed and put in rattlecans by a paint shop and did it myself. Two coats of adhesion promoter, two coats of filler primer, then four coats each of color coat and clearcoat. Worked great and cost me about $150 for all materials (paint, primers, sandpaper, buffing compound, tape, masking, etc).
