Default Polished Wheel Damage

HELP! I washed my car with brand new polished wheels at the local car wash. Now the wheels look streaked and corroded. After doing some research I'm guessing that the car wash uses an acidic pre-wash that has damaged my new wheels.
Is there any way to bring back the lusterous polished finish?

Don't know where you live, if in UK, there's a place in Preston that will refurbish and mirror polish alloys @ £10 a corner. Remember in future, if you do get them polished, smear them in baby oil, this will keep them in good condition and add protection. Greg.
