Windshield film

Hi All.
I live in Washington state and I recently bought a 2012 A4 Avant that was a lease turn-in from Florida.

The vehicle seems to have a film on the outside of the windscreen that no amount of wiping will remove. When the sun shines directly in my face I can hardly see out the window. The film is like that which appears on the inside of windshields from dashboard oxidation. It definitely is not on the inside of the windshield. There is even a rainbow like pattern that shows up similar to a laminate when the sun hits it at a certain angle.
I called a local Audi dealer and spoke with a service manager and he denies knowing anything resembling my problem. All he did was suggest I buy an industrial strength window cleaner and try that.
I am reaching out to the Audi community for suggestions. I do not live close to any dealer and I have to drive an hour, take a ferry and drive another half hour just to get to the closed dealer in my area.

Thanks for your help.

film

FYI: After visiting the Audi dealership in Seattle and the parts manager sending photos on to someone in corporate, it was determined that the film sheen on the windscreen was in fact an after market tinted film installed in Florida. It is illegal to tint the front windshields of vehicles but, I guess, in several of the 'hot' states; Florida, Arizona, etc., car owners do that to block the sun's rays and heat. The situation was remedied with my taking my Audi to a detailer and they removed the offending film in half an hour.
