01 A4 Quattro Auto Trans problem, what would you do>?

Hello all, I have an 01 A4 1.8t with the quattro automatic. Yesterday when in D and slowing down for a light, it started shifting "hard" into the lower gears and when going from P or R to D it also engaged pretty hard. No other problems were present. I picked up a litr of Pintosin synthetic and added (the car raised and level and running) almost the whole bottle. On the test drive, it still shifted hard on the downshifts, but not quite as bad as before. Is there something else I can do (i.e. change a part, reset the computer etc), will it get better, or did i just ruin my tranny by driving one day almost a quart low. The car only has 75k and is driven normally.

Thanks,
Dave

You can drain, re-fill and change the filter.
