02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
I threw a code yesterday while driving about 80mph on a local interstate. The EPC & Trac Ctrl lights came up.
I hooked it up to a scanner and had a fault for Throttle Position Sensor - Signal C. Anyone know common causes/fixes? 2002 Audi A4 3.0L Quattro Automatic 54,000 miles. I also have a CEL light on, but that is for an unrelated Coolant Temperature Sensor. |
RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
You have to adapt the throttle body in basic settings with the audi factory scan tool in both blocks 60 and 63, if that doesn't fix it you will need a TPS sensor.
The coolant temp sensor always take a crap in audi's, replaced thousands of them. |
RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
TPS sensor is how much work?

RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
I think you just bolt one it pretty easy, to tell you the truth ive never replaced one lol. Ive never seen one go bad, have you tried the adaption yet?

RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
so after 2 days of being in EPC mode for the TPS sensor, the light went off this morning and the car drives fine....

RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
the only thing that scares me is I had a sporadic fault for Camshaft Overage / Camshaft Adjustment.
|
RE: 02 3.0 A4 - Throttle Position Sensor
Camshaft adjustment huh? Has anyone ever taken off the cam gears for any reason, i know there is a special tool that seats them before you install the timing belt which can cause a camshaft fault.

ugh this car is a headache

i know this is an old topic but im having problems with it. Isnt the tps inside the throttle body? To "change" the tps would i have to get a new TB?
