My audi runs fine but, it has a noise on the left side of the engine that sounds like bad lifters in the older cars. The noise had been traced to cylinder #2 ? After extensive work and more than $1,000.00 the "Best Audi Shop" in this area can't diagnose my problem and says "it is probably a rod or a problem with the piston and the best solution would be a new motor. The car has 50,000 miles on it. Any suggestions?

 

Sounds like the shop sucks to me. Is the noise always there? After you first start it up? Hot or cold? Need more info before i can help you.

 

It would be nice if we knew what Audi you had.
