So says the local mechanic. I had no air and he diagnosed the problem as a replacement hose needed ($180 retail - expensive hose) but then when he had the car in he said he could not, try as hard as he could, get the hose off the compressor. So he said that meant a new compressor which means the repair bill went from $300 or so including labor to $1200 or more.

Has anyone ever heard of this kind of thing? How can a hose get fused to a conditioner?
