The brake lights on my Audi A6 work only when the brake peddle is pushed hard.
Is there an adjustment I can make, to get the lights to go on sooner, or is this something I have to get done at a dealership?

i know 2003 Audi A6 brake switch location but i dont know if it is the same with 1997 A6.

This switch is located under the dash (on the brake pedal arm). you can find an adjustment on the switch which is fairly obvious.

Hope this is the same with your car.
