1998 Audi a6

Hey everyone I bought a 1998 Audi A6 so when I got back to my garage I hooked it up to my scanner and it was throwing a temperature sensor in the transmission control module I have currently replaced the temperature sensor and ordered a new transmission control module so here is where I'm having my problems I start the car it starts up fine idles fine but when I go to put it in reverse or drive or any lower gears the car automatically dies if anybody has any suggestions it would be wonderful I've been scratching my head at this for a while in the only Close Audi dealership is about 300 miles from where I live thank you

Swap out the TCM when it comes and see what happens. The ECU is dependent on data from the TCM in order to make things run right.
