the 2.8-1.8 changover!!! y2k all over again
I made a post on this in the b5 section already so i don't really want to repeat myself and have a huge post.
what i need is a general overview of what i'm going to need if i want to put a 1.8T into my friends 1997 12valve 2.8 quattro. i am planning on helping him put a rebuilt and supercharged 2.8 back in there unless someone can convince me that all the extra work of converting to a completely different motor will be worth the extra power/ tunability (is that a word?).
the power goal is somewhere in the range of 250-350. its not going to be a race car. just something to throw the girlys heads back when its dropped into 3rd on the interstate
has anyone here actually done this???
