2000 a4 1.8t won't start(HELP!)
Hi guys,
So here is the story over the last few weeks when I started my car it would slightly hesitate before starting maybe due to the fact I live in canada and it's been really cold here, but to make a long story short after driving my car home from work and letting it sit a few hours it will no longer start at all. The battery isn't dead I can still watch my indash dvd and the interior lights are bright, but when I turn the key all i get is a slight tick and nothing. I tried jumping the car nothing, I plug in my engine code reader and all I get is error no codes which is strange as it's never done that before.....Any idea what it could be guys?, I'm thinkig starter but i'd like to see if i can trouble shoot it any further before I tow it to the shop. Also I just had my indash dvd installed 2 days ago, but that shouldn't matter should it?
Thanks in advance, JC

Sounds like a loose ground wire on the battery, or a bad starter. Take out the battery and check the ground wire to see if its coming apart or anything. Then have someone bang on the starter with a hammer while you try to crank it, if it fires up its the starter.
