2000 Audi A4 1.8 Avant intermittent multiple misfire issue!
Help please!
I am having a hard time diagnosing the problem with my A4.
It is a 2000 1.8 Avant.
It started to notice it missing when I would let off the throttle, and from there on it got gradually worse. I ran it on a computer, and came up with a multiple misfire code. This was after I changed all the spark plugs, all the coils, and all ran fuel injector cleaner many times.
My next steps are to change the fuel filter, and clean the injectors, then move on to the fuel relay and pump if the problem persists.
The severity of the missing does fluctuate, as about 80% of the time is will be missing both at idle and while cruising. And the other 20% it will idle fine and cruise fine, but theres no way in hell I can get any torque or power out of it without it missing the second I put the throttle down.
I also thought that it seemed to run better when it was warmer out, but I have started to notice that there is no pattern. The car also will not fully warm up in the cold.
If anybody has any input or and questions to help with some input, please help! This is my last resort before I just take it in.
Thank you!

There is no other codes with your misfire? I would try to determine if it is a lean or a rich misfire, you could have a vacuum leak somewhere. Brake clean or throttle body cleaner can be helpful to find vacuum leaks. Check fuel pressure to the rail could be a bad pump not getting enough fuel. Unplug your MAF sensor see if there is a change in your running condition.
