Hello everyone, I have a 2000 Audi A8 Quattro and I am having a problem with my transmission does not engage into drive with a firm engagement. What is doing when put into drive it seems to slip and then jerk some what then slowly rolls up to speed but sounds like the engine and trans not working in tandem.

I had a shop check the fluid and they said it seemed some low and added the fluid but the problem is still noticed. I would like some suggestions of what this problem could be.

I owned a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora and it had problem similar to this and that was narrowed down to a solenoid mechanism in the transmission. Wondering if this is the same situation.
