Default 2002 Audi A6 Key Programming

Hey guys,

I'm trying to reprogram the keys for my 2.7T 2002 Audi A6 Quattro. The batteries in one key died, and after replacing them the key no longer works. The second key also stopped working at an unknown point in time (never use it, only pulled it out for all the reprogramming procedures). I've tried pretty much every method for programming the keys I can find - checked the owner's manual, forum suggestions here, Ross-Tech pages, you name it. Nothing's worked for me.

Here's a little more info: When trying to program the keys via VCDS, when I enter 35 Cent. Locks, then go to Adaptation and head to channel 21 to enter the number of keys (or what memory slot to program the key into, depending what guide you follow), the test value won't show in the "Stored Value" box no matter what, as if the system won't take the value for some reason. Also, when following these procedures, there's never any response from the car when I press any buttons on the key.

I'm running out of ideas as to what I can do. If anyone has any suggestions it'd be very helpful.

Here's the guide from Ross-Tech Wiki specifically for my car (but I've tried the general procedure as well, along with a number of others).
